A fantastic night was had by all and we raised an amazing amount of money totalling £2025. Thanks to everyone who supported our event.

The group had a very successful annual Christmas lunch, once again at the Royal George Hotel. Where we were served a first class meal by attentive staff in our own exclusive area. Lots of laughter and fun was had by all, which was a welcomed celebration after the hectic festive period.
The next meeting is on Monday the 29th January between 11-15 and 13-30 where Elaine Montgomery will introduce exercise through toning and dance. Come along and have some fun.
Next meeting is on Monday 3 rd September from 11-00 to 13-00 where a talk will be given by Avril Gunning Specialist Breast Nurse and consultant Mr Emad Elseedawy.
Can we remind everyone that our quiz night is on Saturday 10 th February 7-00 for 7-30 start. It is in the Tulloch Institute once again. Looking for raffle prizes if people can ask friends and family.

Sylvia was interviewed by Capital Radio and the STV news last week of the importance of checking there breasts .
Sylvia and I also had an article in the Scottish Women’s Institutes October magazine.
An interesting visit with Frances Fullerpace and her team at Ninewell’s yesterday where we were updated in presentation format with the latest research information. Then a visit to the laboratory and the Breast MRI scanner area, where we were shown some Xray’s of Breast Tumours and Breast cancer specimens.
Concerned that the funding will cease in August 2018 which is concerning. Apparently it would cost £160,000 to retain scientist Selene for a further three year period.
We had a very interesting meeting on Monday 23rd October from Lesley Howells Psychologist from Maggie’s Centre. Due to time restrictions she has been invited back to our evening meeting at the end of April 2018. We also welcomed 3 new members to our group.
